The announcement that Juventus and Massimiliano Allegri are parting ways will have struck fear into the hearts of many football fans. The 51-year-old led the Bianconeri to five back-to-back Scudettos but his reign is finally over. Will the Old Lady be setting their sights on Mauricio Pochettino or Pep Guardiola?Tottenham and Manchester City fans certainly hope not, but both men have been linked with the job in recent days. The Serie A champions might find it easier to procure their out-of-work former manager Antonio Conte or ex-Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho.

Either way, the hotseat in Turin remains a highly attractive proposition for the very top coaches in world football.

It's likely that the axe fell on Allegri - and it looks increasingly like he was pushed, rather than resigning voluntarily - because yet again, the ultimate prize of the Champions League eluded him in 2018/19.

That leads us to Jurgen Klopp.

Juventus 'approach' Klopp

The German has reached the final of Europe's premier competition in successive years and also led Borussia Dortmund to the showpiece at Wembley in 2013.

June 1 could be quite the audition.

Now, according to Italy-based journalist Tancredi Palmieri, Juventus have made an approach for the Liverpool chief.

It should be stressed that the move hasn't come to anything, which suggests either that Liverpool aren't even willing to entertain them or that the man himself isn't interested in jumping ship.

Klopp's contract with the Reds runs until 2022.

Realistically, Liverpool fans should have nothing to fear as not only are things looking rather rosey for him at the end of such an impressive campaign, he has forged a remarkable bond with everyone at the club.

Just look back to him singing You'll Never Walk Alone in front of the Kop after the Barcelona game and it's difficult to envisage him walking away.

It does shed some light, however, on the kind of managers Juventus might be looking at.

Allegri's brand of football wasn't the most scintillating and perhaps that's something the club want to change going forward.

And if that's the case, it's easy to see why Klopp was so high on their list. A total of 97 points gained in the Premier League this season and a Champions League final - it's only right that he's attracting the attention of some other European giants.
