Ajax have confirmed that Hakim Ziyech will leave the club this summer. The Moroccan has a £25m release clause and Europe's elite will surely be circling over the Eredivisie Player of the Season.Ajax's sporting director Marc Overmars confirmed the decision was based on promises given to Ziyech at the beginning of the 2018/19 season."He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League. Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim that we would agree if there is a good transfer," Overmars De Telegraaf. So where will be the 26-year-old be going this summer?

Well, one option could unexpectedly be Arsenal, with Ziyech previously stating that the Gunners were one of his 'ultimate dreams'.

He was also full of praise for Arsenal's mercurial playmaker, Mesut Ozil.

When asked by Ajax teammate Justin Kluivert in 2017 about his future preferences, Ziyech told Ajax TV: "Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona. That is my ultimate dream."

Then when asked about having a football idol, Ziyech replied: "Yes, I actually do have one. [Mesut] Ozil."

Kluivert then asks whether Ziyech is as good as Ozil, to which the Moroccan says: "No, I'm not even close to Ozil's level."

Given that Barcelona have already signed Frenkie de Jong and appear on the cusp of securing a deal for Matthijs de Ligt, a move to Catalonia for Ziyech seems unlikely.

So could Arsenal take advantage of his obvious preferences? The Moroccan would walk into Unai Emery's team and could become one of the finest in the Premier League.

Ziyech scored 16 goals and assisted 13 more in the Eredivisie last season and is capable of playing across the forward line.

Imagine him delivering pinpoint through balls for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette? A mouthwatering prospect indeed.
