Manchester City made English football history on Saturday afternoon as they thrashed Watford 6-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola's side became the first ever men's side to claim the domestic treble after sealing their second consecutive Premier League title the weekend before.

City have now won five domestic trophies in the last two seasons and are the dominant force of English football now.

They are literally the polar opposite to their neighbours Manchester United - how the tide has changed.

United are trophyless in the last two seasons and will be playing Europa League football in 2019/20 after a dismal end to the campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The recruitment strategy at the club has been disastrous ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013 and many fans blame the current situation on the ineptitude of the board.

So the question has to be asked; what would Man City's situation be in 2019 if they had United's board?

Well, one United fan's response to that exact question has gone viral on Twitter - and it's hilarious.

Joe Hart still the club's number one, Jesus Navas at right-back, Eliaquim Mangala captain and never-ending new deals for the passionate Pablo Zabaleta.

Don't forget that mega-money three-year contract extension for the ever out-of-form Wilfred Bony.

Oh, and the supporters demanding that Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne be sold...

The stuff of nightmares for City fans, but luckily for them their board will continue to fund and support whatever Guardiola demands.

They are likely to embark on another summer spending spree, with the likes of Harry Maguire, Rodri, Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix linked with the Etihad already.

Who'd have guessed at the start of this millennium that City fans would be enjoying all the laughs over their red neighbours, eh?
