Everything was going well for Brooks Koepka as he prepared himself for the final round of the PGA Championship. He was going into the latter stages of the competition 12 under par. He had a sizeable seven-shot lead before his final tee-off of the tournament. Finally, he had the support of his beautiful girlfriend… or so she thought. In a remarkable moment captured live on camera, Koepka’s girlfriend Jena Sims looked to give her man an ounce of good luck with a cute kiss.In the midst of the pressure and focus on retaining the PGA Championship trophy, though, the in-form golfer completely aired her attempts and just carried on walking. Not just once, but twice - opting for a fist bump instead at the second time of asking. The actress did not look best pleased and walked ahead with her arms folded for the rest of the commute to the clubhouse…awkward.Astonishingly, there is a renowned theory that Sims is a somewhat lucky charm for the American, who has enjoyed an indefinite increase in results and titles since the two became a couple. Before the ‘incident’, Sims had spoken about it all and acknowledged that it may be more than a strange coincidence.Sims may really be Koepka’s good luck charm, though.

"He’s very aware of his success and the timing of our relationship,” Sims joked with Golf.com on Saturday.

"I can’t take the credit for that. All I can do is make him happy.

"I’m quirky and weird, I like to make him laugh. I encourage him to be himself.”

And he perhaps might have wanted to go back in time and choose to embrace his girlfriend after the clear leader looked on course for one of the biggest chokes the sport has ever seen.

The American – perhaps in fear of returning to the doghouse rather than the clubhouse - recorded five back-nine bogeys during a four-over-par 74 that left him at eight under.

Current world number one Dustin Johnson made the competition even more interesting after he shot a round of 69 to finish six under.

Koepka had gone from a seven-shot lead to winning by just two shots. If it hadn’t been for his miraculous second shot to save par on the final hole, it could have been a very different story.

The slim victory won’t have bothered Koepka, however, who became the first golfer since Tiger Woods in 2001 to have won four of the past six majors played on US soil.

Above all that, though, we can confirm that Sims did get her kiss in the midst of their celebrations after the final putt had been made.
