Kylian Mbappe is 20 years old, a World Cup winner and among the most sought-after footballers on the planet. He’s earning an absolute fortune at Paris Saint-Germain and would have the pick of his clubs if he decides to walk away from the Parc des Princes. But despite his status and young age, Mbappe is no spoilt brat or prima-donna. He’s a model professional who conducts himself perfectly both on and off the pitch. This made his decision to drop a bombshell over his future at Sunday’s Ligue 1 end-of-season awards all the more surprising."I discovered a lot of things here,” Mbappe, who picked up the Ligue 1 Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards, was quoted as saying by Goal. “I feel it's time to have more responsibility. I hope it may be Paris Saint-Germain, it will be with great pleasure, or it may be elsewhere for a new project, but I would like to say thank you."

Asked to clarify his comments in the mixed zone later in the evening, the Frenchman added: “I said what I had to say. When you are in such an occasion you can send messages, I think I have sent mine.”

Mbappe’s comments quickly set tongues wagging.

Does he want to leave PSG for a new challenge this summer? Does he want the club to make him the main man in favour of Neymar?

He’d sent a clear message to his current employers - although what the gist of the actual message was, only he and PSG know.

Talking about Neymar, the Brazilian was in Paris on Sunday night - although not at the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels (UNFP) Football Awards Ceremony, paying tribute to his teammate.

Instead, according to ESPN, he was across town partying with Rihanna.

The pop star is in France ahead of the launch of her new luxury fashion range in Paris later this week and met up with Neymar at the BOUMBOUM in the 8th arrondissement.

Neymar posted a photo of the two of them together on Instagram alongside the caption: “Queen and powerful woman 👑 @badgalriri”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the post hasn’t been liked by Mbappe as things stand.

This isn’t the first time Neymar has swerved an illustrious awards event.

Just last year, he skipped the 2018 Ballon d’Or ceremony in order to spend the evening live-streaming himself playing Call of Duty.

Neymar failed to make the 2018 Ballon d’Or top 10, hence why he decided to stay at home playing computer games instead.

And his failure to win anything at the UNFP awards may have been the reason why he decided to party with Rihanna on Sunday evening.
