Alisson Becker has wasted no time in proving his worth after Liverpool paid £67 million to sign him Roma last summer.
The fee made him the world’s most expensive goalkeeper at the time, almost doubling the previous record set by Manchester City’s Ederson.
Alisson’s time at the top of the pile lasted a matter of weeks, though, as Chelsea went £4 million better to land Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga as Thibaut Courtois’ replacement.
Reflecting on both players’ first season in the Premier League, Liverpool appear to have enjoyed the better deal so far.
Alisson registered seven more clean sheets than his Chelsea counterpart and one more than his closest rival Ederson - enough to win him the Golden Glove.

- Where to next for Bale?
His performances were rarely found wanting throughout a campaign in which he made 76 saves, meaning he kept out 77 per cent of the shots he faced in league action.
In the Champions League, Alisson chalked up 37 stops along Liverpool’s path to the final.
While the statistics alone are impressive enough, his importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side is better portrayed through visuals.
To do just that, a shortened version of a video titled ‘10 Minutes Of Alisson Showing His Phenomenal Saves & Reflexes’ has been shared on Twitter.
It’s an inspiring watch for Reds fans - especially ahead of their showdown with Tottenham on 1 June.
Check it out below…
All of Alisson’s finest moments are in there, including the save he singles out as his favourite of the Reds’ European journey to date.
“I think that anything can change a series of events, in one second or one minute,” he told the official club website.
“But without a doubt, the save against Napoli was pretty much the last touch of the ball and that save could be counted as a goal, I say.
“But of course, my teammates played their part as well and that’s what makes it so special, to be part of that group and to be able to help them. They are such incredible players.”
This year’s Champions League decider will go down as one of the all-time greatest if it's even half as dramatic as the semi-finals were.
And should it live up to the hype, Liverpool will need Alisson on hand to produce the kind of heroics littered throughout the video above.News Now - Sport News
