Football fans are getting ready for an all-English Champions League and Europa League final. It's the first time that all four finalists in Europe’s two competitions have come from one nation, potentially marking a power shift. On May 29, Chelsea and Arsenal will meet in the Europa League final in Baku. And three days later, on June 1, Liverpool face Tottenham for the right to lift the Champions League trophy. So there will no doubt be plenty of people in England hoping to watch both matches.

BT Sport own the rights to the Champions League, meaning those without a subscription can’t access it.

But there’s great news for anyone who doesn’t have BT Sport: the company is going to air it for free across their channels.

BT Sport make both finals free to air

That’s right. BT Sport have pledged to make the game available on the BT Sport app, on their website, via YouTube and free on Virgin Media, too.

CEO of BT’s Consumer division said in a statement: “We want to make BT a company that exceeds our customers’ expectations and does a brilliant job for the country.

"With both European finals being all-British affairs, we’re going to make them easier to watch for everyone in the UK than ever before as well as being the best-connected football viewing experience our customers have ever had.

“BT continues to offer our customers unrivalled choice - with the best content, the smartest devices, and the latest technology - through partnerships with the world’s most innovative companies.

"The launch of HDR maintains BT Sport’s leadership in bringing fans the very best pictures and sound following its debut as Europe’s first 4K broadcaster in 2015 and its worldwide debut of Dolby Atmos sound in 2017.”

Brilliant news.

It promises to be a huge week of football for England, and now everyone can tune in.
