Petr Cech may have spent the final four years of his playing career with Arsenal, but he will be remembered most for his 11-year spell with Chelsea. The Czech goalkeeper, who will make his final appearance in professional football for the Gunners against his former club in the Europa League final next week, was one of the best ‘keepers in the world during his time at Stamford Bridge.Cech won a host of major honours with the Blues, including four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League. The former Czech Republic international, who turned 37 earlier this week, also won a series of individual awards during his time at Chelsea. He picked up the Premier League Golden Glove on four occasions, was named in the PFA Team of the Year twice, and was named Chelsea’s Player of the Year during the 2010/11 campaign.

Cech will always be remembered as one of Chelsea’s best-ever goalkeepers, if not *the* best-ever goalkeeper in the club’s history.

He still holds a soft spot for the Blues, as we saw after the Europa League semi-finals.

After helping Arsenal beat Valencia at Mestalla, Cech was snapped watching the Chelsea v Eintracht Frankfurt penalty shoot-out on someone else’s mobile phone.

Less than two weeks later and Sky Sports have revealed that Cech is poised to return to Chelsea this summer.

Rather than become a coach, Cech is expected to become the club’s new sporting director.

This will come as music to the ears of Chelsea fans, who still love the veteran goalkeeper.

Cech has always come across as a level-headed, intelligent guy who knows his football, so this could be the ideal post-retirement career for him.

However, Arsenal fans could be forgiven for wondering whether Unai Emery should now consider playing Bernd Leno in goal for next week’s Europa League final in Baku.

Cech is a model professional who will try to win the final for Arsenal - there’s no doubt about that.

But if he plays badly and Chelsea end up winning the game, accusations involving his soon-to-be-rekindled relationship with the Blues will inevitably be thrown his way.

And Arsenal supporters on social media are beginning to panic that starting Cech over Leno, who is currently trending on Twitter, would now be a mistake.
