WWE will be hosting their third show in Saudi Arabia next month when Super ShowDown takes place at the King Abdullah Sports City's King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah.

Several top superstars in the WWE are expected to perform at the event including Triple H, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Kofi Kingston, as well as returning superstars such as The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg.

However, since WWE's first Saudi Arabia event last year, Greatest Royal Rumble, a few superstars have refused to travel to the Kingdom due to their laws and controversy which they have been involved in.

John Cena and Daniel Bryan both boycotted Crown Jewel last November, and Sami Zayn (due to his Syrian heritage) and WWE's women's divisions have not been allowed to have matches there.

Another name could be joining that list is, according to Fightful, Kevin Owens is refusing to travel to Saudi Arabia this year for the Super ShowDown event.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted: "We weren’t told a specific reason as to why Owens came to the decision, but his friend and longtime tag team partner Sami Zayn has been off of those shows because of strained relationships between Syria and Saudi Arabia."

This could be the reason why Dolph Ziggler returned last night on SmackDown and was inserted into a feud with Kingston in order to take Owens' place in the WWE Championship picture, but this hasn't been confirmed.

The Prizefighter competed at last year's Greatest Royal Rumble event but was injured by the time Crown Jewel took place in November.

Owens was on SmackDown this week with Zayn to continue his feud with Kingston after losing to the WWE Champion at Money in the Bank last Sunday.

However, after appearing on the ramp alongside Zayn in a segment with The New Day, the former Universal Champion just turned around and walked back backstage.

This seemingly has brought the storyline between Kingston and Owens to a halt for now, especially if the latter isn't travelling to Saudi Arabia in two weeks time.
