Paris Saint-Germain are the dominant force in French football.  They've won Ligue 1 in six of the last seven years and show no sign of letting their tight grip on the title slip. With one fixture left in the 2018/19 season, Thomas Tuchel's side have 91 points. Lille, in second place, have just 75. Talk about a one-horse race.  But apparently, domestic domination alone isn't enough for PSG anymore. According to French source Paris United, Antero Henrique, the club's sporting director, is keen on creating a partnership with a fellow Ligue 1 side.

But who would he like to make a feeder club? Perhaps a team struggling at the bottom of the table? Well, no. Henrique wants it to be Lille.

"Antero Henrique would like to make Lille a sort of partner club in order to help PSG's youth develop in L1" Paris United tweeted.

"Concerning the partnership, it will be on the condition that Luis Campos [Lille's sporting director] remains in charge, as [he] is very sought-after.

"Henrique maintains a friendly and professional relationship with his compatriot."

It's hard to believe that PSG want to form a partnership with Lille, considering that this season, the two have been title rivals.

It almost makes a mockery of the league and a club like Lille, who will be playing in the Champions League next year, will surely turn down the offer.

However, it wouldn't be the first partnership of its kind in French football.

Monaco already have a feeder club in the form of Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge, who currently have eight of their young players on-loan.

But a partnership between two rival clubs would be something new, so it will be very interesting to see if PSG can persuade Lille to get on board.

What's that about Ligue 1 being a Farmers League...
