Who should be on the cover of FIFA 20? This is the age-old question.

The world famous football game, produced by EA, has featured some of the beautiful game's greatest stars as their poster boys. From Wayne Rooney to Ronaldinho and to, well, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere.

Nevertheless, here at GiveMeSport, we took the liberty of deciding the next star to appear on FIFA 20 into our own hands by releasing a series of polls on our Twitter page.

The players that made this illustrious list were: Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann, Eden Hazard, Heung-Min Son, Kylian Mbappe, Virgil van Dijk and Mohammed Salah.

The contestants were split into two groups with the first four mentioned occupying 'Group 1' and the remaining contestants residing in 'Group 2'.

The Football Writers' player of the year, Sterling, immerged victorious from Group 1, narrowly fending off Chelsea's Hazard by just a single percent. Sterling enjoyed a stellar season under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola, completing the domestic treble during the 2018/19.

Meanwhile Group 2, Virgil van Dijk topped the group with French forward Mbappe sitting just behind the Dutch defender.

Van Dijk was voted the PFA Player of the Year in a season where Liverpool were unfortunate to miss out on a league title despite finishing the season with 97 points. Nevertheless, the towering centre-back will be looking to secure Champions League success in Madrid.

The winning duo progressed through to the final vote on Facebook and over 83,000 fans had their say as to who should cement their place as the FIFA poster boy for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

With a commanding 68% of the votes, the GiveMeSport readers opted for Virgil van Dijk to take the number one spot.

If the PFA Player of the Year was to feature on the illustrious FIFA 20 cover, Van Dijk would be just the second Liverpool player to ever feature on the cover, with Jordan Henderson featuring alongside Lionel Messi in FIFA 16.

And this is what it could look like:

Not bad at all!
