It's very much been a case of 'if you don't laugh, you'll cry' for Arsenal fans this season.

Inconsistency has plagued Unai Emery's men, who ended up missing out on the Premier League top four despite the fact they had a much easier run-in.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United all had to play at least two of their top six rivals with six games remaining.

Arsenal, on the the hand, only had to play teams below them in the table: Everton, Watford, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Leicester City and Brighton.

From those six games the Gunners won four points out of a possible 18. It cost them dearly as Chelsea and Spurs claimed third and fourth respectively.

Winning next week's Europa League final is now Arsenal's last hope if they want to play in the Champions League next season, but they face a tough task in beating Chelsea.

Arsenal fans are praying their players can get the job done in Baku, Azerbaijan, otherwise they face a very tough transfer window with limited funds.

They'll also become a laughing stock for their rivals - especially Spurs, who are due to play Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1.

Arsenal players have provided plenty of embarrassing yet humorous moments over the past few years and a lot of them can be found on the Twitter account 'Out of Context Arsenal'.
