There’s a Twitter account that you may have heard of called ‘Celebrity Refs’.At the time of writing, it boasts over 43,000 followers. And the top image on their Twitter page features the man who is the dictionary definition of a celebrity ref: Mike Dean.No referee features on @CelebrityRefs more often than Dean, the 50-year-old who has worked on Premier League matches since 2000.The man is pure box office. Every time he officiates a match he seems to go viral on social media after doing something weird or wonderful. And earlier this month, he broke new ground by becoming the first referee - that we can think of, anyway - to go viral while off duty in the stands.Dean was spotted by Sky Sports’ cameras going mad in the away end at Forest Green Rovers v Tranmere. The Wirral-born match official was seen on top of a rail, above all of his fellow supporters, going mental after Tranmere booked their place in the League Two play-off final.

He was also spotted chanting away in the stands earlier in the match.

Like bumping into your teacher in a supermarket at the weekend, it just felt a bit strange.

However, in the eyes of Tranmere fans, Dean is one of their own.

And footage emerged on Saturday morning showing a coach full of fans travelling to Wembley for the play-off final wearing masks of the Premier League ref.

Check it out here…

That is superb.

We can only hope and pray that Dean has more tricks up his sleeve if Tranmere seal promotion against Newport County on Saturday afternoon.

Don’t let us down, Mike!
