There’s no denying that Paul Pogba has, at times, flattered to deceive since returning to Manchester United in the summer of 2016.
The French midfielder briefly became the most expensive footballer in the world when United forked out a cool £89.3 million to Juventus three years ago.
And the Old Trafford faithful understandably saw him as a game-changing signing; a player with the ability to inspire the Red Devils to the biggest trophies.
However, the only silverware that United have won since Pogba’s arrival both came during his debut season at the club: the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League.
Since then, so much has been said and written about Pogba. His attitude, character and commitment have all been called into question by former players, pundit and fans alike.

Speculation is rife that Pogba wants to leave United for Real Madrid this summer and there are many fans who wouldn’t be sad to see the back of him.
‘More trouble than he’s worth,’ is a phrase that is used a lot during discussions about the 26-year-old.
However, it’s also fair to say that, based on talent alone, there’s no player better in United’s current squad.
There’s a reason why Zinedine Zidane wants to bring Pogba to the Bernabeu this summer - and that’s because he’s good enough to play for the world’s biggest football clubs.
No player in the United squad scored more goals - 13 in the Premier League, and 16 in all competitions - than Pogba during the 2018/19 season.
Not bad considering he plays in central midfield.
And to remind people that Pogba has not been half as bad as what some people like to make out, @TheManUtdWay on Twitter have posted a two-minute video showing some of the France international’s from the current campaign.
“Paul Pogba 2018/19. The starter of attacks, our most creative player, the life in our midfield and our top goalscorer - all from centre mid,” the caption reads. “Put some respect on him.”
