Yeovil continued their fight to get out of the League One relegation zone with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Brentford.

It took 30 minutes before Brentford had their first shot at goal with Marc Laird seeing his effort saved by Yeovil keeper Stephen Henderson.

Two minutes later Yeovil went in front when Andy Welsh crossed from the right with a free-kick and Paul Huntington rose above the defence to head in.

Brentford had their best spell in the first 10 minutes of the second half but Yeovil defended well and grabbed a second goal in the 59th minute.

Dean Bowditch and Nathan Smith combined well down the left and Andy Williams dived to head in from Smith's cross.
