QPR midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has extended his loan at Reading until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has been at the Madejski Stadium since November and the Royals have been unbeaten in the seven games in which he has played alongside Jem Karacan.

"I'm delighted, Mikele has been a really good addition to our squad. He is a top guy, a top person and represents everything that is good about our football club," Reading boss Brian McDermott told the club`s official website.

Leigertwood added: "I've really enjoyed my time here and it felt right to stay for longer.

"I'm pleased to be working with the manager, we've got a good mix of youth and experience in the squad. We're only six points off second and it's there for us."
