Southampton manager Nigel Adkins was left frustrated after his side were held to a goalless draw at home to Notts County.
Saints' title charge was slowed down against the in-form Magpies, but Adkins felt his side should have made their dominance pay.
He said: "I am very disappointed that we only got a point. It didn`t fall for us in the final third. It didn`t happen up front but you have to take the positives out of the game and I think we played okay."
He added: "I tried to change the formation at the end of the game and that almost lost it for us so I had to change it back.
"We tried everything and threw a lot at them but couldn`t break them down and that is what we have to do at home when teams come here.
"I did try to change it up at times and thought that Jason Puncheon had a really good game coming in for Adam Lallana. We have played against a team that are also in form so a point is an okay result."
