Rafael was sent off but 10-man Manchester United still went back to the top of the Barclays Premier League on goal difference after a frantic goalless encounter against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

The full-back was dismissed in the 73rd minute after picking up a harsh second yellow card for a trip on Benoit Assou Ekotto.

But the hosts could not make the most of their numerical advantage to leave United still unbeaten in the league this term.
