Have you made your Fantasy Premier League picks yet?

With the Premier League season just two days away now, thousands of supporters around the country are sweating over their starting XI and how they'll go about spending £100 million.

We've all been in the awkward situation where you pick big name players like Mohamed Salah or Raheem Sterling and then been left with loose change for your defence and substitutes.

It really can be something of a balancing act and some of the best performing competitors are those who correctly identify the 'bargain buys' before the season has even started.

Most importantly, though, fans want to get one up on their mates and some leagues - whether at work or in social groups - even have monetary prizes involved, so the stakes are high.

BT Sport predict the season

Well, worry no more, because it seems that BT Sport have cobbled together something of a cheat-sheet for the new season by calculating the best possible Fantasy Football team.

As part of their campaign about predicting the Premier League season through data, BT have looked at 'The Script' to see how you can align your Fantasy team with how the year will unfold.

So, if you call yourself a believer in statistics, then it should make sense to invest all your trust in BT Sport's prediction and watch the game-week points tumble in. That's the theory, anyway.

The 'perfect' Fantasy Football team

The key predictions for the XI are Manchester City winning the league, United and Arsenal missing the top four and Newcastle, Norwich and Sheffield United all suffering relegation.

Bearing in mind that's how the season 'should' play out, here is the starting XI you should use to collect yourself a handsome points return within the £100 million budget:

Goalkeepers: Ederson and Nick Pope

Defenders: Martin Montoya, Martin Kelly, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Phil Jagielka and Matt Targett

Midfielders: Alex Iwobi, Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend and Jonjo Shelvey

Strikers: Harry Kane, Joshua King and Joelinton

It's obvious that the aforementioned Sterling and Salah are going to be the major points-earners here, while Kane has been given the nod over Sergio Aguero and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In terms of budget buys, King is predicted to bag himself 11 goals and five assists, while Newcastle's record purchase will pay off with with eight goals and four assists.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is another major recommendation with 20 goal contributions from midfield, but BT had to give him the axe in order to adhere to the budget constraints.

So, there you have it, if BT have looked into their crystal ball and correctly predicted the Premier League ahead of time, then enjoy the guaranteed victory we've just given you over your mates.

With 52 Premier League games, action from the Emirates FA Cup and FA Women’s Super League and as the home of European football with every UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League game, BT Sport is gearing up for its biggest season yet.
