After much fanfare and protests, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships were introduced in December 2018.
We saw Sasha Banks and Bayley become the first-ever title holders at Elimination Chamber back in February, but it's not been a great ride for the belts.
Despite believing they were promised a long successful run with the titles, the Boss & Hug Connection lost at WrestleMania 35 to The IIconics [Peyton Royce and Billie Kay], and since then we haven't seen Banks.
There were rumours that the pair protested backstage and back at the superstar hotel over the decision, and it clearly angered Banks considering she went AWOL from WWE.
The titles though haven't been taken seriously since then, and they've rarely been defended since the Aussie duo became champions.
That took a turn this past week on Raw when Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross became the new champs in a Fatal Four-Way elimination match, with Royce and Kay eliminated first.
This infuriated some fans, but there may have been a good reason for losing the titles as Royce will be marrying former WWE star Tye Dillinger later this month and presumably jetting off on a honeymoon.
Bayley believes the pair have been hard done by though as she spoke to talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy.
"I just wish they were [defended] more," said the current SmackDown Women's Champion.
"And that was our goal, to try and bring them to life and everything and we didn't really get a chance to do what we wanted with it, but, we thought the IIconics would have a chance and then they kind of didn't.
"So I just see so much potential in the tag titles and I still haven't given up on them. If it's Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss who actually get time to grow the titles, then I'm happy with that. As long as they get out there and they're represented how they should be, I'll be happy."
It's clear that the females of WWE had big ideas for the titles but currently they've not come to fruition.
With how the company values Bliss they could be elevated in the coming months, , they may continue to be insignificant.
