Transfer deadline day came and went without Manchester United signing any players. They were involved, of course, as Romelu Lukaku completed his long-awaited exit to Italy. But it was only a few days ago that Lukaku's exit looked as though it would spark the arrival of Paulo Dybala. The two were supposed to be swapped, with Lukaku heading to Juventus in exchange for the Argentine. But that move broke down and Lukaku heads to Juve's arch-rivals Internazionale for £74m, instead.

And unfortunately for United fans, the club were unable to find a replacement target - despite links to the likes of Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes.

It's not the end to the window that fans wanted and it was met with disappointment.

One fan, however, appears to have taken it particularly hard.

Twitter user OttisSnr posted a video of a burning United shirt (presumably his) with the following message:

"Dear @ManUtd. I'm heartbroken. My beloved club has become a laughing stock all because of that man [chief executive Ed] Woodward.

"I'm watching the coming season as a neutral. I've no strength to witness the repeat of last season #WoodwardOut"

It's easy to see why he'd be so upset with United this summer.

The team barely did anything, only signing one of the most exciting young full-backs in the Premier League in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as well as breaking the world-record fee for a defender on Harry Maguire to significantly strengthen their defence.

And also signing a highly promising young winger in the United mould in Daniel James - that too.

Actually, that doesn't really sound so bad that you should literally stop supporting your club.

"Okay lads...maybe I shouldn't have burnt the club shirt..no disrespect meant," OttisSnr later wrote. "I'm just so sad because we are gonna be worse than last season."

Wait until he finds out what's happening at Bolton Wanderers...
