Premier League clubs have finished their summer transfer business and now it’s time for the football to begin.

The 20 clubs have spent almost £1.5bn between them with dozens of new players being brought to the best league in the world.

Has it been money well spent? Or has money been wasted?

We’ll no doubt find out in the coming months.

Of course, some clubs have spent a lot more than others this summer.

Despite being in the Europa League, Arsenal have splashed the cash whereas European champions, Liverpool, have spent next to nothing.

But fans often want to talk about net spend.

Net spend is: (amount spent on players - amount received from player sales).

So, GiveMeSport have decided to look at each Premier League club in the last five years and analyse their net spend.
