Peter Crouch predicts where each Premier League side will finish in 2019/20 season

Burnley FC v Southampton FC - Premier League

The Premier League is back after 89 long days.

Liverpool kick-start the campaign as they host Norwich City at Anfield.

They finished an agonising one point behind Man City last season and will be looking to go one better this term.

It's hard to predict exactly how the 2019/20 season will go before a ball has even been kicked.

But in his column for the Daily Mail, Peter Crouch has given his take on how he thinks the season will pan out.

You can view his predictions below...

1) Man City

"City set standards that are almost impossible to match. The team to beat."

2) Liverpool

"If City falter, Klopp’s team will take advantage. They are both so much better than the rest."

3) Tottenham

"Tottenham are a brilliant side and will comfortably finish third again."

Peter Crouch is expecting another third place finish for Spurs

4) Chelsea

"We will all miss the magical little Belgian (Eden Hazard) but Chelsea have plenty of quality remaining."

5) Man United

"For all the money they have spent this summer, they remain a considerable distance from being title challengers."

6) Arsenal

"They look the most vulnerable team to drop out of the top six."

Peter Crouch is not convinced with Arsenal

7) Wolves

"Wolves have got good players and a top manager — I think they will get closer to the top six than anyone else."

8) Leicester

"Rodgers always makes a big impact in his first year at a new club and I’m expecting Leicester to be the same. They will battle for the top six."

9) Everton

"Everton are not far away from pushing for the top six. When it clicks, they are a strong team."

Everton signed Alex Iwobi from Arsenal on transfer deadline day

10) Watford

"They will continue to be physically strong."

11) Burnley

"A place in the top half awaits them once again."

12) West Ham

"There will be times when West Ham are thrilling and there will be times when they are inconsistent."

West Ham spent £45 million on Sébastien Haller

13) Southampton

"They should stay away from trouble."

14) Norwich

"They are coming to catch teams out and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if they stay up."

15) Crystal Palace

"So much depends on Wilfried Zaha. If he thrives, they will be fine and should stay around mid-table. If he’s absent for any length of time, they will struggle."

Crouch thinks Crystal Palace's season will rest on Wilfried Zaha

16) Bournemouth

"They will probably stay up again this season — but it will be close!"

17) Newcastle

"I have my doubts about everything. A tough season ahead."

18) Aston Villa

" Anywhere above 18th will represent success."

Aston Villa spent £145 million thus summer... but Crouch doesn't think it'll be enough

19) Brighton

"The promoted teams are just as good as the Seagulls and will target them as a team they can take points from."

20) Sheffield United

"I wish Chris Wilder and his team all the best but I do worry for them."

Crouch is expecting Chris Wilder's side to finish rock bottom

Some interesting choices there.

Chelsea lost Eden Hazard and have been unable to replace him, yet Crouch thinks they'll maintain their position in the top four.

Arsenal have done the best transfer business in the eyes of many football fans, yet the 38-year-old thinks they could drop out of the top six.

Norwich are one of the favourites to go down but, after playing against them last season, Crouch seems confident they will survive.

And the former Spurs striker thinks Aston Villa, despite spending £145m, will go down.
