It proved to be a fantastic season for Liverpool last time around, that’s for sure.
After 14 years of waiting, the Reds finally got their hands on a sixth Champions League title, beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid.
However, it wasn’t all joy and celebration for Jurgen Klopp’s side as they were pipped to the Premier League title by Manchester City.
Liverpool looked on course to end their champions of England drought in stages of the season, but City overtook them and clinched the title on the final day.
This season, though, the Reds will be hoping to finally get their hands on the Premier League trophy and become England’s top side for the first time in 30 years.

That’s definitely the aim for their owners anyway.
However, there seems to be one sacrifice the Reds must make in order to achieve that target.
According to the Mirror, the Fenway Group have told Jurgen Klopp to downgrade the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and focus purely on the league.
The tournaments add to the busy schedule the Reds face already of which includes the Super Cup and FIFA World Club Cup.
Klopp fielded a weakened side in their FA Cup third round defeat away at Wolves last season and it seems Liverpool fans will be forced to witness a similar story this time around.
It was a third round defeat in the Carabao Cup too as they bowed out at the hands of Chelsea, losing 2-1.
The Reds have won the League Cup a record eight times and have seven FA Cup titles to their name.
