Ladies and gentlemen, the Premier League is back.
Football fans breathed a collective sigh of relief on Friday night as Liverpool and Norwich got the 2019/20 season underway at Anfield.
The Reds underlined their title credentials with a straightforward win, while Manchester City simply blew West Ham away showing exactly why they are the favourite to claim the title once again.
After a glut of exciting signings, Everton were held to a goalless stalemate at Crystal Palace while Sheffield United earned their first point of the campaign, holding Bournemouth to a 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere, there were victories for Brighton and Burnley who got their seasons off to a promising start.

In the final match of the day, Tottenham took on newly-promoted big spenders, Aston Villa.
Having scored in the ninth minute, Villa were on the brink of causing a massive upset but Harry Kane soon stepped up to end any hopes of three points on the first day.
It was a statement from Spurs, who firmly believe they can gatecrash the Liverpool, City party at the top of the pile this season.
However, for a certain Jack Grealish, the sight of Kane finishing Villa off would have left him sick to his stomach.
That is because Kane’s double consigned Grealish to a staggering 19th Premier League loss in a row.
Yes, that’s right - Grealish has now lost in the Premier League on 19 consecutive occasions.
It is a record that stretches over three seasons, starting as far back as the 2014/15 season when Grealish first broke into the Villa first team.
The following season, he made 16 appearances for the Villans, coming up on the losing side on each of those occasions.
Grealish will be desperate to halt the slump against Bournemouth next week but it is a record that is going to stand for a long time.
You may as well embrace it, Jack - poor chap.News Now - Sport News
