Jose Mourinho was in the Sky Sports studio as a pundit for the first time on Sunday. The Portuguese coach, who is still out of work after being sacked by Manchester United last December, has agreed to join the broadcaster until he finds a new job.Securing the services of Mourinho is a huge coup for Sky Sports and no doubt it helped attract a few new subscribers for the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.Mourinho was at Old Trafford ahead of the clash between two of his former clubs, United and Chelsea. He was also in the studio, alongside Graeme Sourness and Gary Neville, to provide analysis for Newcastle United’s opener against Arsenal.

Benches don’t get much stronger than that.

On Chelsea and United’s chances of competing with City, Liverpool and Spurs, Mourinho said: “I don’t believe they’re going to resist in the title race.”

He also added: “I want to say that the obvious thing, we would love United and Chelsea at that level. In football, sometimes unpredictable things can happen, but I think we all agree, a team last season that won everything in England last season and the European champions.”
