If there's one thing WWE likes to do, it's teasing a potential team-up between AJ Styles and Finn Balor.

WWE used the same card during the SummerSlam kickoff show when Styles and The OC's Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson confronted Balor backstage.

The former Universal Champion took the opportunity to wish The Phenomenal One good luck in his United States Championship defense against Ricochet.

Styles replied by saying it was Balor that needed the help since he's facing Bray Wyatt, and he and The OC extended an offer to help with a Too Sweet to confirm the deal.

However, Balor turned down the offer and didn't Too Sweet them back, and would go on to lose against Wyatt's The Fiend.

The Phenomenal One, on the other hand, would successfully defend the United States title in his SummerSlam match against Ricochet.

Balor is now reportedly going to be taking some well-deserved time off from the WWE, but it will be interesting to see what the company does with him when he returns from his break.

When he comes back, he could be repackaged in a way to allow him to join Styles, Gallows and Anderson as a member of The OC.

This would mean Balor would turn heel for the first time since joining WWE, as he never turned heel during his time in NXT either.

It would be a drastic change for Balor's character, as he's one of the more popular babyfaces on the WWE roster, but not one he would be a stranger to either, as he's been a successful heel before outside of WWE.

It could be the exact thing Balor needs too, as he's struggled to reach the heights he once had in WWE since his injury at SummerSlam 2016, which caused his Universal title reign to last just a day.

It will be interesting to see what WWE has in store next for Balor, especially if he does take a couple of months off, as it would be the perfect time to repackage him as a heel.
