Eddie Hearn is a name you'll be familiar with if you follow boxing, but the managing director of Matchroom Sport also seemingly has his eyes on the music industry, as he recently revealed in his 'No Passion No Point' podcast while talking to grime artist Kano.

You may remember back in early July, during a performance at Glastonbury, British rapper Dave called for a fan to join him on the stage to perform his single 'Thiago Silva.'

Thousands of members of the audience threw themselves forward to be accepted, but one person caught Dave's attention.

Rocking a now iconic bucket hat, Paris Saint-Germain 'Silva' shirt and a FILA bag, Alex Mann was chosen by Dave and welcomed onto the stage as the audience chanted 'Alex' before the performance began.

Alex then joined Dave in the performance, and within minutes the brilliant spectacle had gone completely viral. The 15-year-old racked up tens of millions of views across various platforms and was immediately approached by talent agencies after the show.

Hearn revealed that this gave him a great idea.

Speaking to Kano on his podcast, Hearn said: "I'm gonna tell you a story now which you're gonna cringe at, but I've gotta say it.

"The guy who went on the Glastonbury Stage with Dave... Alex Mann.

"I don't know whether it was planted, I don't think it was, but it was unbelievable.

"As a promoter, I've never done a concert, I don't know anything about music, but I'm also arrogant enough to say, 'I do boxing, how hard is it to do music?'

"So I look at that Alex Mann and I think, 'Do you know what? I'm gonna follow him on Twitter because I wanna manage this geezer, we could have some fun.'

"So I followed him on Twitter, he's followed me back and I'm like, this was the day after it happened, I was like 'are you represented?'

"He goes, 'yeah, by some talent agency,' and I'm like 'Argh.'

"Anyway, I said, 'good luck mate.'

"The next day he's like, 'Oh I've got my first gig in Wetherspoon's in Newcastle.'

"I'm like, 'What are you doing!?'

"You've gotta go missing for a month so everyone goes, 'Who is this guy?'

"And then you've gotta come out with a single, I had it all planned out.

"I was gonna be the next music mogul with this geezer from Glastonbury, but it didn't quite work out."

Hearn was definitely onto something with this, but maybe for the moment he should just stick to boxing. He's got a lot on his plate, including the incredibly hyped Andy Ruiz Jr v Anthony Joshua rematch which is scheduled for December 7 in the town of Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
