Atletico Madrid have had a very busy summer.

Diego Simeone's side have lost a number of senior stars in the likes of Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann.

Lucas Hernandez and Rodri also departed the club, with Atletico pocketing some serious cash from the deals.

In response, Simeone has masterminded a squad overhaul which has seen the Spanish side bring in Joao Felix, Marcos Llorente, Kieran Trippier, Mario Hermoso and more.

And their final signing of a busy summer could make their forward line look irresistible going into the new season.

Goal are reporting that Atletico are set to sign Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno for €60m.

The 28-year-old is one of La Liga's finest in front of goal and is now a regular with the Spanish senior squad.

Alongside Felix, Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata, Rodrigo's arrival would mean Simeone has four top-quality forwards to pick from in 2019/20.

Then he has the likes of Angel Correa, Thomas Lemar, Vitolo, Koke and Saul Niguez to supply the strikers. Not bad, eh?

Atletico have established themselves as a European powerhouse in recent years and are now on an even keel with city rivals Real Madrid.

Simeone's side finished ahead of Los Blancos last season and their squad looks far more complete right now.

Atletico also beat Zinedine Zidane's side 7-3 in pre-season, with Costa scoring four goals.

While Barcelona will go into the new season as favourites for La Liga, you would be a fool to rule out Atletico winning their first league crown since 2013/14.

They're also going to be a serious problem in the Champions League, especially if Rodrigo finds his feet quickly at the Wanda Metropolitano.
