Jurgen Klopp has done an amazing job since becoming Liverpool manager in 2015.

In under four years he's transformed the Reds from a team struggling to make the Premier League top four into Champions League winners.

A lot of money has been spent in that time, of course, but the squad Klopp inherited from Brendan Rodgers lacked the quality to challenge for trophies.

Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi was the front three Klopp played in his first game at Liverpool; now it's Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

And it's the same story in defence. Liverpool's back four in that game against Tottenham was Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno.

Fast forward to the opening day of the 2019/20 season and Liverpool started against Norwich City with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson.

It's not just in the transfer market where Klopp has succeeded, though.

The 52-year-old has brought new-found belief to Anfield with his passion and charisma and it's translated onto the football pitch.

Liverpool play with a ferocity that very few teams in Europe have been able to handle over the past few years.

Klopp is a calming presence for his players, too, and he demonstrated that quality ahead of the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Georginio Wijnaldum has revealed a hilarious story of Klopp giving a pre-match team talk to Liverpool's players while wearing a pair of Cristiano Ronaldo branded boxers to ease the tension.

In a recent interview with the Athletic, Wijnaldum said: "We saw he was wearing the boxer shorts of Cristiano Ronaldo .

"He did the meeting with his shirt stuffed inside his 'CR7' boxers. The whole changing room was on the floor laughing their heads off.

"That really broke the ice. Usually in those situations, everyone is serious and concentrated. But he was relaxed and made this joke.

"He's done hundreds of jokes likes that. If you see that your manager is really confident and relaxed, it will have an effect on players.

"He is a father figure in those things for the players. With his jokes and his body language, he takes the pressure off players."

What a legend.

Klopp knew his players would be nervous, especially about the thought of facing Ronaldo, so he came up with a genius idea to make them laugh and relax.
