Floyd Mayweather has been named the greatest boxer of all time by BoxRec, the record keeping boxing website.

Whilst Mayweather topped the list, Muhammed Ali, who is deemed by many as the greatest ever boxer, only comes in at number four.

Mayweather, who is never one to shy away from his achievements, went straight to his Instagram followers to post the list that has him sitting at the top of the pile which is simply titled, ‘Greatest of All Time’.

He also added his own caption to the list stating: “Numbers don’t lie and BoxRec told the truth. It is what it is”.

Second in the list is Manny Pacquiao, who Mayweather fought back in 2015 in a long-awaited clash between two of the best boxers to ever set foot in the ring, according to this list of course.

Mayweather only beat Pacquiao via a unanimous decision, which was enough to maintain his unbeaten record and help him on his way to a perfect 50-0-0.

The biggest takeaway from this published list is that Muhammed Ali, the greatest of all time to so many people, is only good enough for fourth position.

The list was devised by a points system which has Mayweather way out in front with a total of 2,255 points, over 800 points ahead of his closest rival Pacquiao, who managed 1,633 points to gain second spot with his record of 62-7-2.

As for Ali, he gathered 1,485 points and finished his illustrious career with a record of 56-5-0.

Now, Mayweather has more than just himself to state that he is the greatest boxer of all time and will no doubt be using this list to his advantage to anyone who disagrees with him.
