Liverpool's squad has come a long way since the days of Brendan Rodgers.

And it's all because of Jurgen Klopp, who made it his mission to replace the Reds' deadwood with players capable of challenging for trophies.

Simon Mignolet, Martin Skrtel, Joe Allen and Christian Benteke have all departed to make way for world-class names like Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Mohamed Salah.

Only a few players have survived from the team that Rodgers created and Klopp inherited, such as captain Jordan Henderson and James Milner.

The rest were sold or released - so where are they now?

We've taken a look at Liverpool's 2015/16 squad to see which names have been moved on over the past four years and how they've done since.

GOALKEEPERS

SIMON MIGNOLET

Six years at Liverpool was brought to an end this summer for Mignolet, who completed a £6.5m move to Club Brugge.

ADAM BOGDAN

How Bogdan managed to stay at Liverpool for four years is anyone's guess, but he's now a free agent after being released.

DANNY WARD

Liverpool somehow managed to get £12.5m for Ward when they sold him to Leicester City in 2018. He's played five games for the Foxes since.

DEFENDERS

NATHANIEL CLYNE

Still at Liverpool.

KOLO TOURE

Now retired and first team coach at Leicester City, Toure spent one year at Celtic after leaving Liverpool in 2016 before calling time on his career.

DEJAN LOVREN

Still at Liverpool but set to join AS Roma.

JOE GOMEZ

Still at Liverpool.

MAMADOU SAKHO

Sakho joined Liverpool to much fanfare in 2013, but four uninspiring years at Anfield saw the Frenchman sold to Crystal Palace for £26m. Great business.

ALBERTO MORENO

After being released at the end of June, Moreno returned to Spain with Villarreal. He wasn't good enough for Liverpool.

STEVEN CAULKER

One of Liverpool's stranger signings, Caulker only lasted six months and now plays for Alanyaspor in Turkey.

TIAGO ILORI

Four years at Liverpool saw Ilori make zero Premier League appearances, despite being a highly-rated young centre-back at the time. He joined Sporting Lisbon from Reading in January.

MARTIN SKRTEL

A cult hero amongst Liverpool fans, Skrtel joined Fenerbahce in 2016 after eight years at Liverpool and has since move to Atalanta in Serie A, aged 34.

JON FLANAGAN

Liverpool fans loved Flanagan's no-nonsense approach at right-back, but he just wasn't good enough. The 26-year-old plays under Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

BRAD SMITH

Smith joined Bournemouth in 2016 and has spent the last year on loan at Seattle Sounders FC in the MLS.

CONNOR RANDALL

Randall is without a club after being released in June.

JOE MAGUIRE

Maguire left Liverpool for Fleetwood Town in 2017 before joining League One side Accrington Stanley this summer.

MIDFIELDERS

JAMES MILNER

Still at Liverpool.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO

Coutinho's 'dream' move to Barcelona hasn't quite worked out and even though he's still there, he was offered to numerous Premier League clubs in the transfer window.

JORDAN HENDERSON

Still at Liverpool.

ADAM LALLANA

Still at Liverpool.

LUCAS LEIVA

Now 32, Leiva has been a big hit at Lazio since leaving Liverpool in 2017. He'll always be fondly remembered on Merseyside.

EMRE CAN

Losing Can on a free transfer to Juventus in 2018 hurt Liverpool fans, but they're in a much better place now.

JOE ALLEN

Otherwise known as 'the Welsh Pirlo' amongst Liverpool fans, Allen has been at Stoke City for three years now.

CAMERON BRANNAGAN

Brannagan failed to make the cut at Liverpool, which saw him sold to Oxford City for an undisclosed fee in 2018.

JORDAN IBE

Another highly-rated Liverpool youngster who never lived up to his potential, Ibe can now be found struggling for game time at Bournemouth.

KEVIN STEWART

And again. Stewart only made a handful of senior appearances during his three years at Liverpool and now plays for Hull City.

RYAN KENT

Still at Liverpool.

JOAO CARLOS TEIXEIRA

Now at Vitoria Sport Clube, Teixeira was once a youth prospect at Liverpool but ended up being sold to Porto in 2016.

SHEYI OJO

Still at Liverpool, on loan at Rangers.

SERGI CANOS

Canos only spent a year at Liverpool and was on loan the entire time at Brentford, who he joined permanently from Norwich City in 2017.

PEDRO CHIRIVELLA

Still at Liverpool.

FORWARDS

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE

Benteke was a beast at Aston Villa, but his career has been in decline ever since joining Liverpool in 2015. He's now at Palace, struggling for goals.

ROBERTO FIRMINO

Still at Liverpool.

DANIEL STURRIDGE

Injuries prevented Sturridge from realising his true potential at Liverpool. He's currently a free agent after being released alongside Moreno.

DIVOCK ORIGI

Still at the club.

DANNY INGS

How on earth did Liverpool get £20m for Ings? Hopefully the 27-year-old can rediscover his Burnley form at Southampton.

JEROME SINCLAIR

Sinclair joined Watford from Liverpool in 2016 and has spent every year since out on loan, most recently VVV-Venlo in the Eredivisie.
