‘We’ve conquered all of Europe…’Liverpool’s famous song did the rounds once again on Wednesday evening after the Reds defeated Chelsea to win the UEFA Super Cup.Of course, it’s not the trophy that Jurgen Klopp wants the most. But he has every reason to be delighted nonetheless.Sadio Mane, making his first start this season, was particularly impressive. The Senegal international wasn’t a full participant in Liverpool’s pre-season after representing his country in the Africa Cup of Nations over the summer.

But that clearly hasn’t affected him, for he scored twice before the game went to penalties.

However, Mane didn’t just make an impact on the pitch.

Mane's class gesture for ball-boy

He made one ball boy’s day by giving him his shirt after he was replaced by Divock Origi midway through extra-time.

Cameras captured the 27-year-old summoning the lucky lad towards him. Mane then threw him his shirt and gave him a hug.

What a class act.

It follows Mane’s recent visit to the construction site of a school he’s building in his hometown village in Senegal.

As decent humans go, Mane is certainly up there.

The forward only made a substitute appearance during the Reds’ 4-0 win against Norwich on the opening day of the Premier League season.

But all signs suggest a big season for the former Southampton man, who scored 26 goals in all competitions last campaign.

Yet Klopp is perhaps most proud of the fact that Mane is first and foremost, a lovely guy.

The German was pleased with the effort shown by his players in Istanbul, admitting that extra-time was a “killer”.

"It was a very difficult game for both teams. It was all about winning it and we did that in the end,” Klopp told BT Sport, per BBC Sport.

"Nobody in the stadium wanted extra-time, it was a killer. I'm not sure about the penalty but who cares now.

"We started well then dropped off... we could talk about football but it's too late now. We had to fight and the boys did tonight."
