Two weeks ago, Adrian didn’t have a club.
But on Wednesday, he was Liverpool’s hero in their Super Cup penalty shootout victory against Chelsea.
On the eve of the Premier League season, Simon Mignolet left the club for Club Brugge, meaning Jurgen Klopp looked to free agent Adrian as cover for Alisson.
But when Alisson injured himself in Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Norwich, Adrian was suddenly called upon.
His performance against Chelsea in Turkey was shaky, conceding a penalty in extra-time - although replays showed there was very little contact with Tammy Abraham.

But there were celebratory scenes when Adrian saved the crucial penalty from the same Chelsea striker, with his Liverpool teammates and Klopp mobbing him.
But the celebrations were a bit over the top, it seems.
That’s because Klopp has now revealed that Adrian suffered a swollen ankle after being injured by a fan, who ran on the pitch to join in the celebrations.
"A supporter slipped and kicked his ankle. Yesterday it was swollen and today I spoke to him and he said it’s much better, but we have to see,” Klopp said.
And footage has emerged of the moment in question. After being congratulated by all of the Liverpool players, you can see a fan run in from the right and slip into the group of players, leaving Adrian limping away.
What an idiot!
That means for Liverpool’s trip to Southampton on Saturday, the Reds could be without both Alisson and Adrian.
Therefore, Andy Lonergan could be called upon.
Lonergan was signed following Alisson’s injury after the 35-year-old was released by Middlesbrough.
Lonergan spent last season on-loan at League One Rochdale, making just seven appearances.
And it seems Liverpool could well be relying on him tomorrow.News Now - Sport News
