Conor McGregor hasn't stepped foot inside the Octagon for nine months, but he hasn't left the limelight. He still has our attention though for all the wrong reasons and Dana White isn't happy about it.

Footage emerged this week of an incident involving McGregor punching an elderly man in a pub in Ireland reportedly back in April this year.

Notorious punched the elderly man for refusing to accept a drink offer of his own Proper Twelve whiskey. He was buying a round for the entire pub at the time.

McGregor punched the man in the side of the head before being pulled away from the bar by those who were with him at the time.

The attack was reported to the police, who said in April that they would open an investigation. However, there are no reports that say McGregor was charged. It’s also unclear if the investigation is still active.

Speaking to Jim Rome ahead of UFC 241 this weekend, Dana White said he was already aware of the incident. He also gave his reaction to it, saying he hopes Notorious 'wakes up' and say ‘I’ve got to stop doing this’.

The UFC President said, via talkSPORT: “You get to a point where you look at a guy like Conor and you look at the bus incident in New York and the camera, the phone, the guy took the picture of him in Miami and he slaps the phone [away from him] — what’s the number?

“What’s it going to cost Conor McGregor before he decides ‘all right, this isn’t worth it, enough is enough, I need to stop doing this’.

“The incident in New York cost him millions. Millions he had to pay out. He had to pay the guy with the phone. What’s he going to pay this guy that he hit in the bar? The list just goes on and on.

"I just don’t know when he wakes up and says ‘I’ve got to stop doing this’.”

It will be surprising if McGregor isn't charged for assault following the release of this video. If he's found guilty, he will be forced to pay a fine for the offence.

It's currently unclear as to when McGregor will return to the Octagon for another fight.
