One of the biggest surprises of SummerSlam was the return of Edge during the pay-per-view's kickoff show.

The Rated-R Superstar returned to a huge pop from the fans, got into the ring, and even speared Elias when The Drifter charged towards him. He then left the ring to a standing ovation.

Edge has rarely done anything physical since he retired from the ring in 2011 due to cervical spinal stenosis, so it was a nice surprise to see him do his Spear move again.

However, if the man himself has his way, this might not be the last time we see him get physical inside a WWE ring.

Speaking on a recent E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness following SummerSlam, Edge said he feels like he could wrestle again and stated that he could have another match inside the squared circle if WWE doctors clear him to compete.

He said, via Ringside News: “To be perfectly honest, I think I could do a match tomorrow. I might be blown up but I’d be okay.

"It’s just from what I know with the WWE medical staff, they won’t allow. It is what it is, right?”

Fans would love to see The Rated-R Superstar have another match in WWE, but his health must come first.

We've seen superstars in the past like Daniel Bryan recover seemingly from career-ending injuries and be cleared by WWE medical staff to have another match in WWE.

Obviously, Edge's case is different from Bryan's, but the man does do his own stunts on the television shows he works on. His body has healed over the past eight years since he retired from the ring.

Edge's return did well on WWE's YouTube channel as well, as it already has around five million views, so it's clear to see that fans are interested to see him in the ring again.

Edge is interested in wrestling again. WWE fans are interested in seeing The Rated-R Superstar wrestle again. We'll just have to wait and see if WWE is on board with bringing him back for one more match as well.
