Lucy Bronze, Ada Hegerberg and Amandine Henry have been nominated for UEFA Women's Player of the year.

The three top goal scorers were shortlisted and nominated by coaches of the 12 highest-ranked teams in the league. All players play for Olympique Lyonnais, a French football club part of the Ligue 1.

Ada Hegerberg, a Norweigen forward player, won the award in 2016, scoring a hat-trick in the Lyon's 4-1 UEFA Women's Champions final. For Amandine, this will be the fourth time she has been ranked in the top three. This is a fantastic achievement.

While Lucy Bronze becomes England's first representative to make the shortlist.

The UEFA Women Player of the year award honours the best players of any nationality that have played on UEFA territory in the past season.
Along with the 12 highest ranked coaches, 24 journalists who specialize in women's football helped select the three.

Ellen White of Manchester City Women and Pernille Harder - a striker for VfL Wolfsburg, were also amongst the named top ten players.

The winner will be named during the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on the 29th of August.
