Arsenal Women team reported as having breached FA Rules of discrimination by letting employee go

The Arsenal Women have been charged by the Football Association FA, for a reported act of discrimination by letting go a former employee in 2014.

The FA announced in a statement that Arsenal Women had allegedly discriminated "by reason of disability" against a former staff member, who was sacked in 2014.

The FA said: "Arsenal Women FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E4.

An Arsenal spokesperson said: "We refute any suggestion of discrimination in this case and will defend the charge accordingly."

Arsenal Women's team, who are the current Women's Super League champions have until Tuesday, August 20 to respond to the charge.
Arsenal won the WSL title last season for the first time since 2012 after winning 18 and losing two of their 20 matches.

Arsenal Women will play in a friendly against Tottenham on August 25 at Meadows Park. The team will also begin the Women Super League (WSL) on September 8 starting against West ham United Women, last seasons underdog.
