All Elite Wrestling are getting ever closer to the debut of their weekly televised show.

The date of the first show will be October 2, and it will air just two nights before WWE make the jump to FOX with SmackDown Live returning to Friday nights.

It can't be a coincidence that Vince McMahon chose that date, as he surely wants to try and gazump his newest rivals - and he's going to load that show with a lot of legends.

AEW though have already had a hot start to their relatively-short lifespan, and that started with Double Or Nothing in May with the debut of Jon Moxley.

Since then we've seen minor shows Fyter Fest and Fight For The Fallen, and their next major pay-per-view comes in two weeks with All Out, where the first AEW World Champion will be crowned.

Their first Wednesday night show though will take place in the capital - Washington D.C. - and tickets for the inaugural show sold out on the same day they were released, despite the glitches on the website they were sold.

And soon enough the next locations were revealed for the second and third shows - the wrestling strongholds of Boston and Philadelphia.

Unlike the D.C. show where they will be using the Capital One Arena, the same one WWE uses for their shows, AEW will be using smaller arenas than the TD Garden and the Wells Fargo Arena that WWE would use.

Boston's Agganis Arena holds up to 7,200 fans and Philly's Liacouras Center can house up to 10,200 people - and both events sold out 'within an hour' of going on sale.

That's according to one of the Executive VP's Matt Jackson, who is one half of the tag team The Young Bucks.

Even though they are smaller arenas than the ones WWE tend to go to, it speaks volumes that they have sold out already, and considering a lot of Raw and SmackDown's throughout the year have big sections tarped off, it'll be a big success for AEW to sell so many tickets so early in their lifespan.

With either Adam Page or Chris Jericho becoming AEW's new world champion and Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley finally facing off in two weeks time, Tony Khan's promotion certainly has some solid foundations going into their debut on TNT.
