Manchester City dropped points for the first time since January after Gabriel Jesus' late goal vs Spurs was ruled out by VAR.The back-to-back Premier League champions were denied a penalty 10 minutes into the match in controversial circumstances.Eric Lamela bundled over Rodri at the near post but Michael Oliver waved away Man City's protests.Pep Guardiola's side broke the deadlock after 20 minutes through Raheem Sterling.Kevin de Bruyne sent in a delicious cross from the right and Sterling planted his header into the bottom corner.

City were not ahead for long as they were pegged back just minutes later.

Ederson was poorly positioned and could not keep out Eric Lamela's left footed strike from long-range.

But the home side restored their advantage 10 minutes before half-time and it was De Bruyne who had another major part in the goal.

The Belgian midfielder sent in another vicious cross and Sergio Aguero popped up at the near post to divert the ball home.

City were in the ascendancy and could have made it three.

De Bruyne, who was causing all sorts of havoc, set up Ilkay Gundogan inside the box but the German's effort went the wrong side of the post.

City could have extended their lead within 10 minutes of the restart, with Zinchenko, Bernardo Silva and De Bruyne all going close.

But it was Spurs who would score the first goal of the second half.

Mauricio Pochettino subbed on Lucas Moura to try and get Spurs back into the game and it proved to be an inspired decision.

The Brazilian forward managed to head home from a corner just 15 seconds after being subbed on.

Guardiola responded by sending on Gabriel de Jesus on instead of Sergio Aguero and that did not go down well with the Argentine.

Aguero was stopped by Guardiola as he made his way to the bench and the two were caught arguing.

Mikel Arteta then had to come over and step between the two in order to ease the tension.

City pushed on for a winner and they thought they had it through Aguero's replacement.

Jesus came off the bench and fired past Lloris in the last minute, only for VAR to rule it out for a handball in the buildup.

Watch the goal...

And watch it being overturned...

Wow. It's really happened again. That's the second time Man City have been denied a late winner against Spurs.

In April, Raheem Sterling thought he scored the winner against Tottenham in the Champions League, only for VAR to rule it out for offside.
