Leicester City well and truly ruined Frank Lampard’s emotional return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

It was Lampard’s first home game in charge of Chelsea and he was greeted with chants of ‘Super Frank’ and welcome home banners.

And it looked as though he’d get his first competitive victory in charge following last week’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United and a penalty shootout loss to Liverpool in the Super Cup.

It took just seven minutes for the Blues to take the lead as Mason Mount robbed Wilfred Ndidi to finish past Kasper Schmeichel.

But Leicester grew into the match and Ndidi grabbed a deserved point for the visitors when he made amends, heading in from a corner.

That corner was whipped in by James Maddison - who produced a brilliant man of the match performance.

Maddison was at the centre of every Leicester attack and he caused Chelsea all sorts of problems in the second half.

But after his brilliant performance on the pitch, Maddison produced a brilliant tweet after the match.

During the match, former Top Gear presenter - and Chelsea fan - Jeremy Clarkson decided to bring up Maddison’s haircut.

"James Maddison. Too long at the barber’s. Not enough time practicing football,” Clarkson wrote.

Despite not being tagged in the tweet, Maddison was alerted to Clarkson’s insult.

And he hit back in style.

Maddison replied: “Stick to cars mate. Can count on 1 hand how many trims you’ve got left #thin.”

Ouch.

Maddison’s reply instantly went viral and we’re still awaiting Clarkson’s comeback…
