They currently occupy eighth after losing 2-1 to Rennes on Sunday evening.PSG took the lead through Edinson Cavani but goals from Mbaye Niang and Romain del Castillo earned Rennes an impressive win.So it’s two wins from two for Rennes, who also defeated PSG in the French Cup final last season.The Ligue 1 outfit, who finished 10th last season, have had to rely on their production line of young talent and they’ve developed some gems over the years.
Sylvain Wiltord, Yoann Gourcuff, Yann M’Vila and Ousmane Dembele are just some of the names to come out of the club’s academy.
And it seems like another player is destined to be added to the list in the form of 16-year-old Eduardo Camavinga.
Camavinga played a starring role in Rennes’ victory over PSG, providing the assist Del Castillo's 48th-minute winner with a sumptuous cross.
The Angola-born teen is already a history-maker, becoming the first player born after January 1, 2002 to start a game in Europe’s top five leagues when he was named in the starting line-up for Rennes’ 2-2 draw with Monaco in May.
And his assist against PSG means he is the first player to set up a goal in the French top flight since Opta started recording such data in 2006-07.
The midfielder put up some impressive stats against Kylian Mbappe and co., including a 98% pass accuracy.
No Rennes player had more touches of the ball than Camavinga.
