Wayne Rooney's time in the MLS is coming to an end.The English forward signed for D.C. United in 2018 in a move that many thought would be the last of his career. But he won't be plying his trade in north America much longer.Rooney has decided to quit the MLS after just over a year in the league. The 33-year-old has decided to move back to England to become a player-coach at Derby County.

Despite knowing that this year will be his last in the MLS, Rooney is still doing everything in his power to end on a high note.

Rooney still has the same desire to win every game as he did while he played in England.

But that passion can sometimes be portrayed in the wrong way.

The England international is a fiery character and often got into verbal encounters with both players and officials during his time in England.

And he let frustration get the better of him in D.C. United's match against Vancouver on the weekend.

D.C. United were 1-0 down when Rooney was subbed off in the 74th minute.

The former Manchester United striker was clearly unhappy with a number of the refereeing decisions and he decided to take it out on the fourth official as he made his way off the pitch.

Rooney can be seen shouting angrily in the fourth official's face and could be heard saying: "Every f****** game."

He could find himself in a lot of trouble for that.

Rooney explained his frustration with the officials after the game.

“Because I have my opinions of the referees,” Rooney told Daily Hive. “It’s not very good. I feel they need to improve the game.

"That’s my opinion, and I feel like I’m entitled to my opinion. I said a couple of weeks ago, I got kicked, and the referees do nothing.

“All I’m asking for is a bit of protection. It’d be nice if Howard Webb (General Manager of the Professional Referee Organization) could come to the training ground, and let us speak to him over it.

"I feel it’s happening, game after game. To get some clarification, it’d be nice if Mr. Webb come down to the training ground to speak with us.”
