Barcelona weren't supposed to reveal the financial details of Philippe Coutinho's Bayern move

Philippe Coutinho joined Bayern on Monday

Philippe Coutinho officially completed his move to Bayern Munich from Barcelona on Monday morning.

The Brazilian forward joins on loan for the 2019/20 season and the German giants will have the option to buy him on a permanent basis.

Coutinho expressed his delight to Bayern's website at making the move.

"For me, this change represents a new challenge in a new country at one of the best clubs in Europe," he said.

"I am really looking forward to this. I have big goals like Bayern, and I'm sure I can do it with my new team-mates."

Bayern's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge thanked Barcelona for agreeing to the transfer but he won't be happy with their statement announcing the move.

In their official statement, Bayern wrote how the clubs had agreed to keep the financial details private.

"Coutinho, 27, will initially be loaned out by Spain's champions FC Barcelona for one season until 30 June 2020, after which Bayern have a purchase option," the statement read.

"The parties have agreed not to divulge the financial details of the agreement."

Bayern didn't want Barcelona to reveal the financial details of the deal

But Barcelona didn't keep it secret at all.

"FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Philippe Coutinho to the German club for the 2019/20 season," Barca's statement read.

"Bayern Munich will pay €8.5 million and the player’s wages. The agreement also sees an option to buy for Bayern fixed at €120 million."

Awkward. And not very classy at all from Barcelona. It's unknown whether Bayern are annoyed by Barca's statement but it can't have gone down well.

Philippe Coutinho has left Barcelona on loan

Despite Barca's conduct, Bayern are ecstatic to have secured the signing.

Sports Director Hasan Salihamidzic said: "Philippe Coutinho made it very clear to us during the negotiations in Barcelona that he absolutely wanted to change to FC Bayern.

"He is a world-class player with very strong abilities that can be used variably on offense. The squad of Bayern now wins even more quality. Philippe Coutinho will help us achieve our ambitious goals this season."
