Floyd Mayweather has stated that he will never fight Manny Pacquiao again, despite speculation of a rematch in Saudi Arabia being discussed.

Reports of a rematch emerged following a video the undefeated fighter posted on his Instagram.

The video showed Mayweather saying he was due to hold talks over a possible sequel to his fight with the Pac Man.

However, the American has now clarified that he was paid over two million dollars to post the video and has no intention of fighting his long-term nemesis again.

Mayweather clarified his position on Instagram, writing: "There is a video circulating that I made eight months ago about a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch. I got paid $2,200,000 to make the video. The truth is, the fight will never happen again.

"Now, swipe left and look at the money that got wired to me for the video. Now, who’s the smart one? I’m making millions just for 10 second video drops."

The post was accompanied by two pictures showing transfers of $1.2m and $1m.

Mayweather, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, also elaborated on the video in a recent interview.

The 42-year-old said: "The video that y'all been seeing is false because I've been and went to Saudi Arabia. I went there a long time ago.

"I talked to them about me fighting there, just different fights, but they wanted me to specifically say Manny Pacquiao.

"And actually, we didn't just talk about boxing; we talked about different events; us bringing different events out there."

Mayweather continued, adding: "Basically, that's an old video. At the end of the day, there's no talks about me and Manny Pacquiao fighting a rematch.

"Even if we did fight, all they're going to do is have an excuse, just like the first time. But as far as me and Manny Pacquiao, as of right now, it will never be a rematch."

The only fight between the two boxers, in 2015, was one of the most anticipated contests in boxing history and fans will be disappointed by Mayweather's adamant declaration that a rematch will never happen.
