Manchester United missed the opportunity to take all three points against Wolves on Monday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side took the lead just before the half-hour mark when Anthony Martial found the back of the net.

Ruben Neves levelled proceedings with a stunner after half-time before Man United won a late penalty.

Paul Pogba waltzed into the box and was taken down by Conor Coady.

Marcus Rashford took United's penalty against Chelsea last week and scored, maintaining his perfect record from the spot.

But after a brief chat with Pogba he let the Frenchman step up against Wolves.

And it proved costly as Pogba saw his penalty saved by Rui Patricio.

There were no further goals meaning United only walked away with a point.

The Norwegian manager explained his thoughts on the incident after the game.

“They are the two designated penalty takers,” he said, per the Guardian. “The two of them are confident and good penalty takers. When there are two names there, it’s the one who is the most confident [who takes it]. Paul has scored many before so there’s absolutely no problem.

“Sometimes in a game you grow in confidence, sometimes [you think] ‘I don’t want to take it today because I had a bad game’. I’ve absolutely no problem with players walking up and saying ‘This is mine’.”

However, according to the Sun, his reaction in the dressing room was very different.

They report that Solskjaer 'tore' into Pogba and Rashford behind the scenes.

He was left embarrassed by the episode and blasted the pair for failing to decide who was on duty before kick-off.

He's now stripped Pogba of spot-kick duties and told the dressing room Rashford is now the club's penalty taker.

The Frenchman has now missed four of the last nine penalties he has taken.

He is the sixth worst penalty taker in Premier League history having scored seven of his 11 penalties.

Pogba was also said to be frustrated with his costly miss and apologised to his teammates after the game.
