Jadon Sancho has been rewarded for his incredible performances at Borussia Dortmund.

The Englishman enjoyed something of a breakthrough season last year, becoming one of the biggest goal contributors in all of European football and finding the net on 13 occasions.

Sancho, who came up through the ranks at Manchester City, played a crucial role in Dortmund's second-place finish in the Bundesliga and scored on the opening weekend of this season.

He was also included within the Bundesliga Team of the Season for his efforts, while also being acknowledged by Gareth Southgate and collected his first six caps for England.

As a result, multiple reports are claiming that Sancho has agreed a new contract, delivering a massive blow to clubs like Manchester United who had been interested in a transfer.

Sancho set for new contract

However, perhaps the most eye-catching detail of this development is the fact Sancho will be getting a massive pay-rise to £190,000-a-week, including bonuses.

It's a significant fact because that raises him to the status of being football's highest-paid teenager.

Most people wouldn't imagine earning that much in their wildest dreams, never mind before their 20th birthday, and it places Sancho above an illustrious list of young talents.

World's highest-paid teenagers

In light of Sancho's new deal, the Daily Mail decided to crunch the numbers and establish the ten high-paid players in world football who are 19-years-old or younger.

So, without further ado, check out the full list here:

=1. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) - £190,000-a-week

=1. Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) - £190,000-a-week

3. Rodrygo (Real Madrid) - £76,000-a-week

4. Ryan Sessegnon (Tottenham Hotspur) - £70,000-a-week

5. Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid) - £58,000-a-week

6. Moise Kean (Everton) - £53,000-a-week

=7. Phil Foden (Manchester City - £30,000-a-week

=7. Reiss Nelson (Arsenal) - £30,000-a-week

9. Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) - £22,000-a-week

10. Takefusa Kubo (Real Madrid) - £17,115-a-week

Talk about a gap between the top two and the chasing pack.

Both Sancho and Vinicius are far and away the highest-paid players in their age category, while another Real Madrid player completes the podium on £114,000 less every week.

Again, there's another plummet after Kean in sixth place, where a number of Premier League players join the list and then a third Real Madrid man rounds off the list.

It goes to demonstrate just how impressive of a talent Sancho really is and Dortmund have deemed it fit to reward him with a contract befitting of someone much older than him.

However, when you're producing goal and assist tallies to bite at the heels of Lionel Messi, it only seems fair to crown him as football's most valuable teenage talent.
