Stipe Miocic will never forget August 17, 2019.It was the date that the UFC star regained the UFC heavyweight title after stopping Daniel Cormier in the fourth round. And moments after his impressive performance at UFC 241, the 37-year-old discovered that his father is free of cancer.UFC have released the preview to ‘UFC 241: The Thrill and the Agony’ and in it, we see Miocic backstage after his win.The 19-3 star calls his dad and discovers some brilliant news.

“I'm so happy for you, dad. I got this belt, this is for you OK," Miocic told his father.

“My dad just got cleared of cancer, by the way, today.

“How awesome is that right? He acted like it was no big thing. He's like 'oh I'm clear’.”

That's great.

Miocic had just reclaimed the UFC heavyweight title after losing it to Cormier at UFC 226 in July 2018.

There are now calls for a trilogy to settle the pair and UFC president Dana White hopes Cormier continues his career.

“He looked damn good until like I said after the fight, whoever came up with that go-to-the-body game plan in between rounds was f**king brilliant. Brilliant. And it was even more brilliant the way Stipe executed it," White said about the UFC 241 contest, per MMA Fighting.

“So yes, I think he's one of the best in the world and I don't think he should retire but that's up to him and his family.

"I'll do anything he wants to do and obviously anything that Stipe wants to do. Stipe's gotta want the trilogy, too."
