Aston Villa kicked off the third game week of the Premier League season with a 2-0 victory over Everton.

Wesley put the home side in front, finishing past Jordan Pickford to score his first goal in English football.

Villa then held out and scored the winner in stoppage time.

John McGinn played in substitute Anwar El Ghazi and he rolled the ball past Pickford to ensure Villa won their first game of the season.

For many fantasy football players, this was largely an insignificant game.

Many players may have had a few Everton players, with Lucas Digne, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson all popular choices.

But very few would have had any Villa players in their lineup. That's shown by the fact the average points players got for the game was 1.

However, one Fantasy Football player made possibly the most random choice of all time and it's paid off big time.

One player, for some reason, had six players playing yesterday.

For Villa, they had Bjorn Engels, McGinn and El Ghazi.

While they also had Michael Keane, Richarlison and Sigurdsson.

And in what has proven to be an inspired decision, they choice to triple captain Engles.

Yep that's right. Tottenham are at home to Newcastle this week. That means Harry Kane could find himself in the goals.

Sergio Aguero also has a favourable fixture against Bournemouth, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could profit from a Liverpool defence that has looked suspect in the opening weeks.

But this player clearly knew something we all didn't and decided to use one of his valuable chips on Engels.

And it paid off. He managed a clean sheet and also got three bonus points.

He eventually got 27 points. McGinn (6), El Ghazi (6), Richalison (2), Sigurdsson (2) and Keane (1) means he is currently the top scoring player for the week in the world having managed 44 points.

What a ludicrous, but brilliant decision.
