Manchester United took the brave move of mocking Chelsea ahead of their match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

After accidentally tweeting the hashtag #MUNCHE instead of #MUNCRY, United corrected their error and aimed a cheeky jibe at the Blues, whom they recently defeated 4-0, in the process.

*#MUNCRY. Wish we were playing Chelsea again, though…,” they tweeted.

It was quite funny at the time but United had little to gain and everything to lose from the tweet.

And wouldn’t you know it, the Red Devils were made to regret ever mocking Chelsea as they were beaten 2-1 by Palace at Old Trafford.

Patrick van Aanholt's 93rd-minute winner secured all three points for the Eagles, the first time they have ever beaten Man United in the Premier League.

And they joined forces with Chelsea to laugh at their opponents at full-time.

Palace and Chelsea troll Man Utd

Palace kicked things off by responding to Man Utd’s tweet with: “We’re sure you do…”

Then it was Chelsea’s turn. Also responding to the original message, they wrote: “How’d it go?”

Hold this L, United.

The result raises more questions about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s suitability for the role.

The Norwegian watched as United suffered more woes from the penalty spot, Marcus Rashford missing from 12 yards a week after Paul Pogba did the same.

But Solskjaer isn’t concerned, insisting that the goals will come if his players continue to get in good positions.

"Two games, two missed penalties. It’s part and parcel of it,” Solskjaer told the BBC, per Goal.

“Sometimes it happens. I have missed a few myself. If we score them it’s a different story.

“If we keep putting ourselves in those positions we will get more penalties and we will score.

It is just one of those things. We trust them to score again.

Less tweeting, more penalty practice. That’ll help.
